Ce soir-là, nous allons travailler et expliquer les passages les plus importants et les plus difficiles de la pièce de Ionesco, "Rhinocéros". Il est toujours idéal de lire une oeuvre avant de la voir sur scène surtout quand il s'agit d'une oeuvre en langue étrangère. Il y aura des sur-titres mais vous verrez qu'en ayant travaillé avant, vous profiterez plus pleinement du spectacle
Mes conseils:
1. Commandez le livre. Amazon a le texte en français.
2. Lisez le livre. Marquez vos questions.

En classe:
1. Nous ferons la lumière sur le texte.
2. Nous mettrons l'oeuvre dans le contexte du théâtre de l'absurde.

Ce sera très intéressant et une bonne préparation au spectacle.

Dear Friends, there is nothing like a little bit of preparation before seeing a play in a foreign language. You can order "Rhinoceros" - French version - as soon as possible. Read it. Take notes of your questions. We will clarify and explain the most difficult language and interpretation points during these two hours I am offering. In that way, you and I will approach the play with confidence. We will need the supertitles less. It will be a great cultural experience!

Dear Friends, having you all as guests last night to discuss Ionesco's play was simply a thrill for me. You all were intellectually engaged, interested and wiling to contribute excellent ideas and questions. Your sense of humor accompanied our serious discussion with genuine laughter. That is exactly the way I like a class! I wish you all a great evening at the play. We are all well prepared which will lead us to get more out of the show. I really, really would love to discuss your impressions next week Wednesday, October 17 at 7:00pm. I am so curious about your conclusions as to the director's choices, etc... If you can, please, register for the round table, so that I know how many people will come. That helps me. Thank you all very much for all you gave me.

Wonderful organization, friendly and tasty (wine/cheese/bread/paté...'till you drop) setting and above all a great group of friendly 'French' people, discussing with intelligence, savvy and wit, Ionesco's 'zoological' play. 'Une soirée comme on en a peu', guided, with soft and expert 'main de maître-esse', by Mijo.

If only Bérenger and Jean had owned iPhones, they could have 'googled' it immediately: both African species and the Sumatran rhinoceros have two horns, while the Indian and Javan rhinoceros have a single horn.

I was delighted during and after class, reviewing all that had been said and learned. What a group that was where we could develop ideas, discuss them and benefit from each other's thoughts. A true thrill!
As for the iphones, I had to laugh. You did some serious research there.... Fun!
